I CAN'T WAIT......

This year for Christmas we did something new. We put everyones name in a bowl and everyone had to pick someone. No one knew who anybody got except them. Then we have to get them a present I can't wait for Christmas because I got Heber and I got him something great. I also can't wait to see who got me. I hope we can do this next year.

CHRISTMAS TREE

A couple of days ago we got our Christmas tree. It was a really fun experience because we usually get a fake one. We went up by Pine Creek, by the skii lodge. We cut it down with a chain-saw. I hope that we can do it next year.

MY SONG

Does everyone know the song where it goes,"Up on the housetop reindeer paws, out jumps good old santa clause?" Well I made up a new verse. It goes like this,"Up on the housetop pinch, pinch, pinch, it's not Santa it's the Grinch. He's taking all our gifts away so we can't have fun and play. Fuss, fuss, fuss, he makes us fuss, fuss, fuss, he makes us, up on the house to pinch, pich, pich, it's not Santa it's the Grinch." thank you from kylee

MY CHRISTMAS POEM

Christmas time is filled with joy For every girl and every boy There's little kids on Santa's lap While sleepy parents take a nap Adults all shop for fun fun things I just love all the joy it brings Christmas is about Jesus' birth Then we all came down to earth Kids all love santa's ho ho ho And all the pretty deep white snow I think we all love Christmas time So why do I have to rhyme? Because with every laugh and every Smile it makes Christmas joyful All the while! BY:KYLEE

THE BEST THANKSGIVING EVER!

This is a made up story by me, (kylee dayton). Oh, hi I'm Timmy, Timmy the turkey. I'm going to tell you a story about last Thanksgiving. So, I was out in our field the day before Thanksgiving, and I heard guns, and saw hunters. I was in so much trouble. I had just rememberd that my mom had told me that turkeys were the main dish on Thanksgiving. I ran back to my house, but all of the doors were locked. I wanted to go somewhere safe, anywhere besides here. Then I rememberd that the air port wasn't to far from here. So I sprintedtwords the air port. When I got there they said that I had to be at least 20lbs. to go on the plane. I ran to the air port resturaunt and ate all of the crumbs off of the floor. (I don't think they have to sweep anymore). After that, I ran back to the plane. They said that I was only 19lbs. but they were nice and let me go on anyway. Next, I hopped onto the plane. I had no idea where I was going, but I didn't care. When the plane stopped, I hopped off the plane. I guess we landed in this weird place called India I think. It was getting dark and I was getting realy tired, so I snuck into someones house and slept on their couch, (it was soft). When I woke up, I smelled something delicious. I walked into the kitchen and there was a big feast. There was also an emty seat. I sat in it and no one seemed to notice. I looked around the table and guess what I didn't see? A turkey. I was so releifed. I asked them why there was no turkey and they said that that turkeys are to special to eat and they loved them. After the told me that, they came around and started hugging me. I felt so honord. They asked me if I would stay, but I told them that I had to back to my family. But I made a deal with them, and it was that next Thanksgiving I would come back and bring my whole family. Well, that is the end of my story, so this Thanksgiving if you are a turkey, hop on the next flight to India. THE END

THANKSGIVING

I cannot wait for Thanskgiving, how about you? It is a time to give thanks, (and for delicious food.)
Some family traditions we do are; we put everyones name in a basket,we pull out someones name and have to say why we are thankful for them. It is really special when someone pulls out your name, because you feel amazing. It is also fun, when you pull out someones name and get to make them feel good when you say why you are thankful for them. Another tradition we do is that if we can memorize Psalm 100 we get a dollar, and a chocolate turckey. I love spending time with my family eating yummy foods and having fun. BY KYLEE DAYTON

The new kid on the blog

We have a new kid in our family. His name is Bybee. He just barley turned one in October. He is taller than alot of kids his age, and he can already walk and talk a little. He loves the song, Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam. When we wrestle for fun, he is always watching out for us and cries a little. We love him so much.                -By: Kylee Dayton, 10 years old.

Yep, I actually just did this....

It has only been like 6 months since I blogged last. I think that is an all time record. Well, we have computer issues. Joe is the only one with a normal computer and he has it with him all day, and when he gets home he is doing homework on it, so I can NEVER BLOG!! Well, he doesn't do homework on Sunday's (what a good boy) so I decided to try it out....yep, I actually posted something. WOW! I know you are going to be sad not seeing that poop blow out anymore!

Well, ABQ (that would be Albuquerque, I am not going to type that out every time so remember that) is treating us quite well. The weather is nice, and the people are even nicer. Kylee is loving school at Tierra Antigua.....translation...ancient earth....she loves her teacher Mrs. Piccininno (like pitch-a-knee-no) that is how they taught it to Ky to remember. She is also making lots of new friends, I know hard to believe. Jack is playing soccer and loving it, he actually had his last game yesterday sad. He is playing 2 years up, so he is 5 and most of the rest of 'em are 7. Mia is keeping me busy, making messes everywhere. She is still the same little fireball...maybe even more so. Heber is so fun, and growing too fast. He has 4 teeth. Two on top, and two on bottom. I think I can see more coming in on top, and he is drooling pretty bad. Joe is enjoying school and glad to be done with the first semester. This is our family in front of his school the first week we were here.

Here is the basics about ABQ. Jack said when we first moved here after being out and about that first week. "ABQ is pretty much the same as Utah....there is a Chuckee cheese, there is Carls Jr. they have everything we have....it is just that everything is a lot smaller here!" Funny kid right? But he is right they pretty much have everything, it is just smaller. UNTIL.....we went to the new Golden Coral when Barbaloot came and visited us.....HUGE. They had everything imaginable...every type of food, they had cotton candy, they had a fondue bar thing, they had ice cream and not just the soft serve either (they had that too though) but they had scoopable yummy icecream, the had a little doughnut maker. Anyway, ABQ is smaller except the Golden Coral. Here is Mia with a messy face after having some fondue fun!

Now for the most important....EASTER. Today we had a special Stake Conference. We got to hear from Elder Claudio Costa of the Seventy. I feel like I have a special connection with him. I remember meeting him in Brazil when my dad was Mission Pres. He was awesome. The whole meeting was awesome. The importance on Temples was spoke about quite a bit. I know that the Savior died for us so that we could repent and live together forever...we need Temples for that. I am so thankful for the Temple. Elder Costa spoke about the people in Manaus Brazil, how they would sell everything that they had to spend 15 days traveling to get to the nearest temple. They are still doing that. They have a temple that will be dedicated soon and they are so happy. His words touched my heart and made this Easter very special. I am so thankful for the Gospel and for my Savior, that he died for us, and that he resurrected three days later. Joe's 101 year old grandma died a couple of weeks ago. She was the oldest of 6 kids and the last to go. She out lived her family members and he husband and obviously her parents. I can't help but think of the reunion she must have had when she passed. I am thankful to have the knowledge of being together forever!

Sorry this post is so long, that is what I get for waiting so long to post. Deal with it!

Worth it

So a month or so ago ( I just didn't have time to post it then) Heber had the biggest blow-out of his life. I mean it was MAJOR! It was everywhere. It went through the car seat (you know where the buckles come in and out) and onto the base. These pictures just don't do it justice. Anyway, I had a thought while I was trying to change all the mess. He is so FREAKING CUTE! Even though he made a huge mess everywhere it is still worth it. I guess I am just going to keep having these little munchkins. Too bad we have to wait while Joe is in school.

NASTY MESS!!!

See, it's all worth it...plus look at Mia in the background!!! She makes me laugh!

Like mother like daughter

So we were at a fun family event for my Mother-in-law a week or so ago, and we were trying to figure out where Mia went. Well, we found her and guess what she was doing? Eating butter. He hands were all greasy, and she was going to town on that thing. I had to get a pic. The first thing I thought was "NASTY!!!" then I remembered some stories told about me when I was a little girl.....I guess I used to go into the neighbors house with my buddy Jason, and get in his fridge and eat his butter. I know I am weird. Then when Kylee was a little girl she didn't say Buffy, she said Butter, so she called me butter for a while! Oh Mia, you make me laugh!

Fall

I love the fall! I was doing something in the house and the neighbor was trying to rake her leaves when the kids discovered the fun. I came out and they were all "helping" her rake the leaves. It was fun for all! I am loving the warm weather, I know it has to end soon, but I am hanging on to every last bit of it.

A first for me

So last weekend I had a first in haircuts (which I guess is crazy since I have been doing hair for like 8 years now) My sweet sister in law Delayne has breast cancer, and she had a double mastectomy and is now enduring chemo and all that fun stuff. Well, last Friday she decided to have a head shaving party since her beautiful hair was falling out. Her husband Brendon did most of the work and I finished it off. It was a sweet experience. She has such a great attitude about everything. She is a young mother (her youngest is Mia's age and her oldest is like 15 or something) and her outlook on life is amazing. I am in awe of her and the things she does. So here are some pictures of her and how beautiful she is even with hardly any hair. She also wanted me to shave a breast cancer ribbon in the back of her hair so there is a pic of that too. (that was another first) Joe decided to buzz his hair the shortest it has ever been....lookin' good!!! LOVE YOU DELAYNE!!!!

Dear Sleep,

Dear Precious Wonderful Sleep,

Where and when would be the best time to meet up with you? I tried to find you at 10:30 last night, but as soon as I was close Jack found me instead. "I'm scared." he said. So I tried to help him find you. I think he finally did. On my way back to find you, Jack interrupted me again, at 12:45. "I'm still scared." he said again. So one more time I tried to help him feel better. Every hour I tried to find you, but somehow everyone else needed me. Jack's arm fell asleep at 2:00, Heber waned to eat at 3:00 Mia had to go potty at 4:00. Kylee and Joe seemed to be the only ones to find you last night. Any chance we can meet up tonight? PLEASE?????!!!!????

Love,

Buffy

Van

So we are thinking about getting a van. I know I never wanted a van, but you know when it makes sense it makes sense. I find myself yelling at the kids not to climb over the seats, I also find myself very frustrated when I go grocery shopping and there is no room for the groceries. Don't get me wrong, I have totally loved the Tahoe, I wish I didn't have to trade it, but fact is, with 4 kids it makes more sense to get rid of it. So, who knows about vans? What is the best of the best. ( we will probably end up with the worst of the worst, cause we are just going to trade the Tahoe straight across) but it is worth a shot. Oh, and this is something that my sister-in-law Barb showed me when she found out we were considering a van....I laughed pretty hard! Enjoy! Thanks Barb.

First Grade

I just can't believe it. My little Kylee....my first born....my baby!!! (well technically she isn't my baby, but I feel like she is still a baby, or that it was just yesterday that she was a baby) She is in first grade. All day. I feel like it should be nice, but it isn't. I am excited for her, and as you can see she was very excited to go. Last year when she was going to kindergarten she cried...this year...not so much. I am so proud of her. I hate that life is going by so fast, but I am thankful to have such a life. We are so blessed. Kylee is my big helper, so we will see if I survive this week, and the rest of the year, since Joe just started his hardest semester yet. Good luck to Kylee,Joe, and good luck to me.

Darling

I am sorry to say that I think my little Heber might be the most darling little thing around. I hope every mother thinks this same thing about their children. I just had to show him off a little. Thanks Kelly for taking our pics, I will have to post more when I get another minute.

Blessing

Posted by Picasa
Heber Cuthbert Dayton was blessed last Sunday, on Aug 1st. It was such a great event. So many supportive family members and friends. Joe was awesome and gave a great blessing mentioning the importance of his name, it was quite a touching blessing. I am so thankful we have the priesthood in our family. My friend Kelly took some pictures for us of our special day. I am sorry to say but I just think I have quite the awesomely handsome family. I love them so much!

It's about time!!!

Posted by Picasa
No, really it is about time...about having time to blog...which thing I am finding it hard to find the time...plus it is about time I did a new post right??? RIGHT! I am such a slacker. Obviously so much has happened since I blogged last. Here is a list of a few of them, not necessarily in any order.

Joe got a black eye- he was playing soccer and someone from the other team decided to put his cleat up as Joe was heading the ball down....I was afraid he had lost his eye, but nope, just a black one for a few days. He looked pretty tough actually.

Mia (my not so much the baby anymore) turned 2. Yes, way back in February she turned 2. She is now potty trained (hallelujah!!) She is also as bossy as ever, but boy does she have a lot of personality. The other day we were with my Grandma Pat (my mom's mom) and she just got a kick out of Mia and said..."You know Buffy, your mom is probably just smiling down on you thinking you are getting just what you deserve." thanks Grandma!

Kylee (my teenager) turned 6 in March. She also graduated from Kindergarten, which thing she loved and I am sure would love to repeat it if she got the same awesome teacher Mrs. Headman. She is becoming such an awesome reader, SO SMART, and she is taking Piano from her favorite Aunt Barbara. Boy does she learn fast. She is also my SUPER HUGE help with the new baby. THANKS KY!!

Jack started soccer. This boy is going to be able to do anything he wants. He absolutely loves sports. He got out there on the first day of soccer camps and wasn't even scared. He is such a fun boy to be around. Any chance he gets, he is playing baseball, football, soccer, or basketball. It will be fun to see what he ends up loving when he is older. He finished his first year of pre-school with the wonderful Mrs. Steele, and loved every second!!

I hiked Stewart Falls 8 months pregnant...need I say more?

Then there is the obvious....Heber Cuthbert Dayton finally came to our home on July 1st at 8:21 pm. He came in at a whopping 9lbs 4 oz. 21 inches long. And he hasn't stopped growing. We went to his 2 week apt. yesterday and he was 10.1 lbs. He loves to eat. He is so fun, I just love babies. He is a great sleeper (so far) he sleeps about 5-6 hours at a time at night. The kids love him...or should I say love to maul him. Here is how it went. Wed the 30th I had my membranes stripped, I started having some contractions, then in the evening they went away...I was so bummed. So Thursday I went back in again, and he stripped a little more vigorous. About an hour later my water broke, and I started having contractions (that was about 1:30 pm. The contractions got pretty bad pretty quick. We went the the hospital about 3:30. I got an epidural (praise them) at about 6:00, and he was born just after 8. FUN TIMES!!!

Thanks to my friends and family I have had quite an easy recovery. I think I am getting tired this week though...hopefully I can stay on top of things.
